✌️Peace Out 2020 🎉

Chef Tammy holding Cole Porter, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. (Author's dog) Praise be! A new year is here. What a year for the history books. We're still here for you, we're still trying our best. With the onset of the pandemic and the effect of mandated service limitations, we were determined to not make it onto this 2020-year-end list:  Twin Cities Restaurants that closed . Thank you, we couldn't make it without you. We made our own list for 2020, brought to you by the letter "P":  Things that kept us awake at night, and things that kept us going.  Pandemic. Protests, Police State. Preparation, Pro-Action, Perseverance.  Politics. Perjury. Pardon. Positivity. Persistence. Parents. PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) PPE (Personal Protective equipment) Post Office. Packages. Polls.  Patronage. Puppies. Pie.  Peace out, 2020. ✌️ Pause. We're taking a short break. We are trying out this thing called "A Week Off".   We will be closed January 1s...

Rainbow Chinese: The history of ordering Chinese Food on Christmas

Image of The Last Supper, with Chinese food— taken from the article  "Chinese Food and a Movie :: Jensen Karp Uncovers a Jewish Christmas Mystery! " We anticipate the coming of our busiest day: Christmas Eve, every year. If anything, we will recognize your order, as your tradition, is ours.  Chances are slim that Tammy will have time to visit with the guests outside the kitchen this holiday, and given today's chilly snow storm, she may just stay near the kitchen flames, wok in hand. You may catch a glimpse of her, but as of this writing, we have counted   just the pre-orders for the Christmas Eve , and those numbers are on par with any bus...

Laugh with us: Uncle Roger & Fried rice Settle in with one of Rainbow' most popular dishes: Fried Rice.  Choose from:  Chicken, Pork, Beef, Shrimp, Veggie, all with eggs, onions & bean sprouts.  Our specialty fried rice includes:  5-Spice Bacon, Curry Tofu, and our own Rainbow Fried Rice with pork, shrimp, peas and carrots.  What makes ours different is the light flavor and color: it's light on the soy sauce & food coloring that your might see at other places. Enjoy it as-is, or double the meat or veggies, there is more than one way to have it. If you like your fried rice extra saucy, try it with our house-made dumpling sauce (it's a sweet & zesty soy sauce) or our dry-roasted chili oil (spicy). $1 Off Fried Rice The weekend's email exclusive discount: $1 off Fried Rice.
