Opening doors with egg rolls

Pre-pandemic and pre-I35w /Lake street closures made it a lot easier for everyone to make their way to Rainbow Chinese. Though we like to think of ourselves as a neighborhood restaurant, a good number of you drive across town to visit us— we want to thank you for your continued patronage. You may have only seen the outside of our building when picking up take-out, it's been a year since we've had the dining room and bar open for guests. We do not plan on opening our doors in the near future, it's going to take some time for the world to heal, and it's only just starting to move into the right direction. 1998 marks the first award on the wall and a start of a new era. We moved across the street from the strip mall, to our current building at 2739 Nicollet. We added a 10-seat, full-service bar, and a private dining room for special events. Imagine a two-hour wait, and a lobby filled with guests shoulder-to-shoulder. Two large, round tables with lazy-Susans could fit groups of 10 or more. The lazy-Susan was a carousel for the many plates of family-style meals to be shared. Whole fish and Peking duck were carved at the table. The smoking section towards the back, and the non-smoking section towards the front. The large aquarium of koi fish was the only divider between smoking & non-smoking. Those days are behind us, but the large fish tank is still filled with hungry koi. They are having a vacation from the guest tapping on their glass enclosure.  We miss visiting with the regulars and the first-timers. It's always easier to order when you have a guide to explain the food and provide thoughtful recommendations.
