Rainbow at Minneapolis Farmer's Market, it's Slaw Season!

We're back at the Farmer's Market!
Rainbow returned to the Farmer's Market last weekend serving egg rolls, spring greens and our house-made drinks. Stop by the main Farmer's Market on the edge of downtown, and say "hi" to Tammy.
We have a separate menu for the Farmer's Market, which you can only get on-site at the markets.
Farmer's Market Drinks $5
Choose from Mango Lemonade, Strawberry-Rhubarb lemonade, Ginger Ale and Ginger-Hibiscus Lemonade. Note: fruit topping is not always on the drinks.

Having a cookout? These flavors are available on our regular menu in 1-quart containers- aka "Packed Punch", and are $2 off every weekend when you use the coupon code BRUNCHPUNCH
Visit with Tammy at the market.
Life-long food writer, and James Beard Award Winner, Sue Zelickson and Chef Tammy Wong at the Minneapolis Farmer's Market. (Tammy is vaccinated!)
Farmer's Market Eggroll (1) $5, Fresh Greens $2
Just for last weekend, Tammy paired the egg roll with a little extra— she couldn't resist the fresh greens and the first crop of asparagus from the "Asparagus guy" at the market— he only sells asparagus and it's only for a few weeks in spring.
ASIAN SLAW
ASIAN SLAW$8.00
Dress up your weekend cookout with Tammy's Asian Slaw.
If you're a Farmer's Market regular, you may have seen or smelled the grilled meats from the Tollefson Family Farms stand. They've been a fan of Tammy's Asian Slaw and serve it with their sausages & hots dogs.

Our slaw is juicy & tangy, with hints of spiced citrus zest and plenty of crunch. More carrot than cabbage, and similar to sauerkraut- only in that it is wet. Add to your entrées, green salad, or enjoy on its own. Comes in a 1-pint container.

Shout out to the L.A. punk band, the Linda Lindas.
They made national news this week with their anthem "Racist, sexist boy". (NPR Link). They opened the Los Angeles Public Library's AAPI Heritage Month celebration on May 4.
"A little while before we went into lockdown, a boy came up to me in my class and said that his dad told him to stay away from Chinese people," says Mila, the drummer, as the video begins. "After I told him that I was Chinese, he backed away from me. Eloise and I wrote this song based on that experience."

Shout out to Filipino/Filipina Nurses, they are the frontline workers for the frontline workers.
Filipino/Filipina nurses make up 4 Percent of Nurses in America, yet account for 31.5% of the nurses who have died from Covid-19 related exposure. To understand why the pandemic has disproportionately affected nurses from the Philippines, listen to this story from The Sisterhood/The Atlantic, or here at WNYC.
