Ghost Peppers for Halloween!

Tammy picked up a few pounds of hot peppers at the Farmer's market and we had a working/play session making sauces and new dishes to warm you up for the upcoming cold. Our most popular sauces: Sweet & Sour, Dumpling, Nuoc Cham are now available in a scary-hot ghost pepper version.  What is a Ghost Pepper?  How hot is a ghost pepper? The ghost pepper tips the Scoville scale at a walloping 855,000 to 1,041,427 Scoville heat units. for reference, it's 107 to 417 times hotter than a Jalapeño. The sauces are hot for Minnesota palates, but are delicious, fruity and robust with flavor. We are excited for you to try these with egg rolls, cream cheese wontons, dumplings, and even on fried rice. Each 1 oz. portion is marked with a sticker, so you won't get it confused with the regular version. We advise you to use with caution, as you would with any other hot sauce. Keep out of children's reach, and keep away from your eyes. Watch for more hot pepper experiments in the future, the Pineapple, Ghost Pepper and Habañero chutney may sell as a side next week.

The Rainbow Gardens give away

The frost is coming and Tammy wants to give away some of her frost-sensitive plants that won't survive the winter. If you are picking up an order in the next couple days, you can pick up one plant that she'll have ready for you in a bag or box. It's limit one, and first come first served. Please do not dig up any of the plants at the restaurant, we will have a limited amount ready to give away.

Covid Update

We are still a take-out only operation, and we don't know if and when we will open up to dine-in. The dining room has been used as dry storage for the past year and the seating area by the front windows is still the plant nursery. We still feel strongly that the delivery operations remain on hold, and not be channeled out to the many delivery options that other restaurants use. As a woman-owned family business, that promotes quality over quantity, we'd prefer to have control of how our food reaches you, and these services may or may not come up to our standards.  Chef Tammy would often be the delivery driver so she could personally connect with you, as she did in the dining room. She is currently nursing an ankle injury and needs to take it easy, though that won't stop her fast hands- she is still making all the hand-made appetizers that you know and love. Additionally, we don't want to be a slave to technology, as each delivery service requires its own iPad. Five extra screens is what we counted at other businesses; we don't need more screens in the kitchen or the dining room. We hope you understand. Please don't solicit us with requests to join your favorite delivery service.

You can also call us to let us know you are here by calling us or ringing the doorbell. We often only have one person at the desk, so please have patience when you call us or pick up your order.
