Just like reservations, the most popular times get booked. While you will be able to order these throughout the week, pre-ordering Monday & Tuesday is the way to go, as we will have your order on reserve, and you won't need to worry that we will run out, in case if you want to have your meal later in the week. Again, first come first served for pre-orders.
Year of the Tiger
If you were born in 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022, cross reference your birthday with the Lunar calendar, and see if you're a tiger.
Personality: Tigers are courageous, confident, and with a spirit of adventure.

Whether Tiger or not, be adventurous by trying our new vegan dishes for the Lunar New Year. Don't think of them as meat substitutes, think of them as new ways to eat protein and a way to put less strain on the planet. We're seeing a lot more meat substitutes on the grocery shelves these days: Beyond Meat, Impossible Burgers, Tofurky, Herbivorous Butcher, etc. Among the meatless options is the good old stand by, Mock DuckWikipedia: Mock duck is a gluten-based meat substitute. It is made of wheat gluten, oil, sugar, soy sauce, and salt, and is high in protein.

A Chinese Buddhist staple since the Middle Ages, Mock Duck is a high-protein pressed gluten. Think hotdog— but shaped differently. Both are mysterious extrusions of the ingredient they are created from, and encased in a form unlike its origin. They both have a squishy, chewy texture, and can't be mistaken for real meat. (Unless you try ours!) Mock Duck is has no real flavor of its own, it does act as a conduit for flavorful sauces, spices and smoke. Traditions at Rainbow
This year we are re-introducing a centuries-old dish Lor Hon Jai, now with a crisp cloud of thin rice noodles.
On the first day of the Lunar New Year, it's a Buddhist tradition that no animal or fish should be killed, so many families eat a vegetarian meal called jai, or Buddha's Delight. Chef Tammy has always made Lor Hon Jai for Lunar New Year, even if it's just for friends and family. This year she's re-introducing this centuries-old dish, with a crisp cloud of thin rice noodles: aka Buddha Noodles.

The other traditional dish Tammy makes every Lunar New Year is 8-Treasure Rice pudding, the origin of Eight-Treasure Rice 八寶飯 traces back to Western Zhuou Dynasty in ancient China. This year it may be simplified as some of the ingredients are very difficult to find right now. Stayed tuned to the website to see what we will have for the Lunar New Year dessert.
Re-imagined wontons
There are a few standout items on the menu that have kept us in business, one of them is Szechuan Wontons, and the other is our house-made roasted chili pepper oil. While you may have paired the two together in the past, get ready to take your taste buds to new heights: behold the Firecracker Wonton. It's our beloved pork & shrimp wonton in a crisp suit, dressed with our new firecracker honey. Available only on the Lunar New Year menu.
Not all of the LNY menu items are meatless.
