Lunar New Year & Valentine's Specials: Tangerine Shrimp, Braised Beef Bowl, & Sparkling Rosé

 

Lunar New Year's Eve is February 11th
Thank you to all who ordered the Lunar-New Year 4-Course Dinner. This type of multi-course ticketed dinner experience is new for us, and if it all goes well, this will be the format for Tammy's experimental dishes, as well as a way to bring back classics that have disappeared from the menu over our 30+ years- like Peking Duck.

For years, Rainbow has hosted a friends & family Lunar New Year's Eve that you may have seen in person, or from the street. This year we will miss the Chinese Dragon Dancers & drummers, as wells as feeding the dragons offerings of lettuce and red envelopes. We have yet to see if the fire bowl is set outside for the traditional symbolic money burning, and if Daddy Wong will stand outside lighting firecrackers on the sidewalk. We look forward to doing this in the future, and hope you are celebrating at home.

The Braised Beef Bowl from the Lunar New Year Dinner will be available in a limited quantity, a la carte on Valentine's Day, February 14th.

Tammy is revisiting the flavors of a noodle dish from twenty years ago, Beef Brisket Noodle, and reinventing it with the flavorful and unctuous Beef Shank combined with Beef Brisket. This braise is slow cooked for several hours to produce fall-off-the-bone tenderness. The noodles for this are hand-cut rice noodles we call "Big Fun"

Only for Valentine's day— spin on a classic: Honey Walnut Shrimp is reinvented as Tangerine Shrimp just for Valentine's day. 

We've made Honey Walnut Shrimp with the fresh-squeezed tangerine juice from our Lunar New Year special. This dish is so new- we don't have a photo. Instead of walnuts, Tangerine Shrimp will have kumquats.

Picking up your order:
Our parking lot on the SOUTH side of the building is now open for pick up orders. If you opted in to Order Updates, you can let us know you've arrived by responding to your order confirmation. You can also call us to let us know you are here by calling us or ringing the doorbell. We often only have one person at the desk, so please have patience when you call us or pick up your order. 

It's cold out. Bring a cooler to keep your food cozy & warm. We keep your takeout order in a insulated cooler to keep it warm, you can do the same for your trip home.

  Celebrate Lunar New Year January 26th- February 6th:  The Lunar New Year Menu is now online for scheduled orders and same-day ordering. Don't miss out on your favorite Rainbow dishes, you can mix and match from both menus to round out your Lunar New Year meal. Look for the two buttons on the website to switch to each menu. You might notice many of the items are vegan, (meaning its made without animal products), a practice observed during the Lunar New Year. LUNAR NEW YEAR EVERYDAY MENU Schedule your pick-up time now.  Unlike last year's Lunar New Year offering  when we offered a prix fixe 4-course menu, this year's menu is a la carte.
