• Lee wrote a book about the history of Chinese food in the United States and around the world, titled The Fortune Cookie Chronicles. Warner Books editor Jonathan Karp struck a deal with Lee to write a book about "how Chinese food is more all-American than apple pie." Picking up your order: Our parking lot on the SOUTH side of the building is now open for pick up orders. If you opted in to Order Updates, you can let us know you've arrived by responding to your order confirmation. You can also call us to let us know you are here by calling us or ringing the doorbell. We often only have one person at the desk, so please have patience when you call us or pick up your order. 
Addendum
Starting March 1st, we will be operating on one less day- Tuesdays are now a much needed day off. Our staff will recharge on Monday and Tuesday, aka the service industry weekend. We are open normal hours Wednesday- Sunday.
A note about online ordering. Some of you have called to tell us that rainbowrestaurant.com was marked as an unsafe website and forced to "go back to safety." There's no need to worry because orders and payments for the transaction are on rainbow-chinese.square.site. It's still us, but with more security, and the ability to take payments via Square, Apple Pay & Google Pay.

Rainbow Chinese: The history of ordering Chinese Food on Christmas

  December 24th is the busiest day of the year for us —and Chinese restaurants everywhere. " We anticipate the coming of our busiest day: Christmas Eve, every year. This year is no different, though having an empty dining room is something new to us, as we always look forward to seeing all the familiar faces. Now we just need to be able to recognize you, wearing a mask, bundled up in winter clothes.
