#TBT when British band Oasis dined at Rainbow
Speaking of morning glories, What's the story morning glory? is the 2nd studio album release from British group Oasis. They are just one of the many bands that dropped in to have dinner at Rainbow before or after their show. Photo by Bounthiene Thongmanivong.
Upcoming price changes
As you might know, the cost of everything has increased in the past year. We've been experiencing this in our restaurant food supply and have been holding off passing the cost onto you. While we opt to buy local produce as much as we can, (to avoid long-distance shipping costs, and to support local growers), the cost of some of our locally-sourced produce has also increased to keep up with demand from the global shortage. Since we make our own menu items in-house and don't rely on pre-packaged egg rolls, dumplings and wontons (etc.) delivered to our door, we have been able to keep them available to you with out the mark-up, but that is not sustainable for us.

World-wide, there are shipping and production delays, an all-around depletion of resources. Closer to home, there is a shortage of farm workers and meat processors, and health. We cannot deny that the food supply is greatly affected by the pandemic. Let's not forget that there is a drought, wildfires and even floods, in every direction.

We will slowly make changes to the menu that reflect market costs. (Gailan is especially expensive right now.) Alternately, we don't need to have all items available, and could simply choose to serve only food that is in season, and local, and at a sustainable price to all.

Can you name the produce that is available in August in MInnesota? Here is a list of what Minnesotans would be harvesting in the coming months: Minnesota Harvest Calendar - PickYourOwn.org. If you see any of the items on this list at the Farmer's Market earlier than harvesting time, you can be sure they aren't locally grown.
