End of an era.

 

After 4 long years…

After four very long years, we a happy to announce that the freeway ramp exit connecting i35w to the Lake Street is finally open!  Building up to the pandemic, we had significant drop in business do to the freeway ramps closing off the rest of the world to south Minneapolis. Lake street still has some construction, but it doesn't affect our business as much as the freeway closure. We hope you find this as exciting as we do!

Back to Noodle School: Crispy, lean and mein.

Pan fried noodles: If you like a hint of smokey wok-hei, these fire-singed noodles are a good place to start. Watch the video for quick visual of wok-hei.  Last week we learned about chow fun noodles, this week, it's mein. These aren't the dry brown noodles you know from school lunch that were slathered with a mysterious celery and carrot glue. It's not the crunchy topping on the $14 "Asian" chicken salad at the lunchtime salad chain. It's not Lo Mein- which for us, is a wheat-based noodle. Mein starts out as soft and curly egg noodles, and transforms into a crispy, smokey nest of noodles after a swirl in a hot wok. To this, we add the veggies/proteins and sauce.

How to make it picture perfect: When you order this, it will come in two cartons, one with pan fried noodles and the other with your dish of choice. Find you biggest platter and arrange the noodles into a flattened nest shape. It is now ready for your dish, which you pour over the noodle nest. It should look like the picture above.. You can order mein noodles in the Pan Fried Noodle section of the menu. You also can add mein to any dish, just choose it in the drop down menu. See the image below.

A side of fried noodles can be added to unexpected items, like Szechuan Wontons and Egg Rolls, just look for it in the Sides.
